Starting this fall, Alaska Airlines is expanding its service to the Hawaiian Islands. On November 9, 2009, Alaska Air is scheduled to begin flying direct from Oakland International Airport in Oakland, CA to Kahului Airport in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. The service will be offered four times weekly, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Service to Kona International airport in Kona, Hawaii from Oakland is set to start on November 10, 2009 and will operate three times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Both Oakland flights will be flown on a Boeing 737 on a two-class system.
Alaska is also adding non stop service between Portland, Oregon and Kahului, Maui, which was previously scheduled to start in August but will be starting July 3rd and will operate thrice weekly on Wednesday, Friday and saturday. Daily service will begin after August 7, 2009. A second daily flight between Seattle, Washington and Honolulu will also start on July 2, 2009.
