Washington D.C. and Chicago To Moscow Non Stop

American Airlines, one of the world’s largest airlines, offers direct service from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago to Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia. Flights depart Chicago six days a week (no service on Sunday) and Moscow six days a week (except Monday).  The route is flown on a 225 seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

United Airlines has also recently started flying a direct route to Domodedovo from Washington D.C. Dulles Airport. The inaugural flight landed in Washington D.C. on March 30, 2009 and took approximately 10 hours and 55 minutes from Moscow to Washington D.C. The route, connecting the capitals of the two countries, is flown on a Boeing 767-300 aircraft. The flights from Washington depart five times weekly, excluding Tuesday and Thursday. They will also depart five times weekly from Moscow, excluding Monday and Wednesday.

Alaska Airlines To Hawaii Non Stop

Starting this fall, Alaska Airlines is expanding its service to the Hawaiian Islands. On November 9, 2009, Alaska Air is scheduled to begin flying direct from Oakland International Airport in Oakland, CA to Kahului Airport in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. The service will be offered four times weekly, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Service to Kona International airport in Kona, Hawaii from Oakland is set to start on November 10, 2009 and will operate three times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Both Oakland flights will be flown on a Boeing 737 on a two-class system.

Alaska is also adding non stop service between Portland, Oregon and Kahului, Maui, which was previously scheduled to start in August but will be starting July 3rd and will operate thrice weekly on Wednesday, Friday and saturday. Daily service will begin after August 7, 2009. A second daily flight between Seattle, Washington and Honolulu will also start on July 2, 2009.

Direct Flights From Spain To Berlin

Berlin is an esy and quick getaway destination from several cities in spain, and vice versa.  Both Air Berlin and iberia offer direct flights between major cities in Spain and the German capital. Iberia Airlines flies direct from Madrid Barajas Airport and Barcelona International Airport to Berlin Tegel in the northwest of Berlin.

Air Berlin also flies a direct route from Malaga International Airport, a major airport hub in southern Spain, to Tegel.

Other major Spanish citie serviced by Air Berin include Bilbao, in Basque country, Valencia, Murcia, Sevilla and Santiago de Compostela, an important Catholic pilgrimage site.

Direct Service From Salt Lake City To Tokyo

On June 3, 2009, Delta Airlines will begin non stop service from Salt Lake City International Airport, Utah to Tokyo Narita International Airport, Japan. The new service option comes as a direct result of  Delta’s merger with Northwest Airlines, which had a hub in Tokyo.  The Salt Lake City-Tokyo flights will be flown on an Airbus A330 and run five times a week.

Additionally, Delta plans to offer a new connection between Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as well as taking over the 8 other cities previously serviced by Northwest before the merger. Together, the new Delta Airlines will service 9 of the 20 major Asian markets.

The non stop flights is certain to open up more tourism and business opportunities for businesses in Salt Lake City as well as Tokyo.

Direct Flight From Pittsburgh To Paris

Starting June 3, 2009, passengers traveling from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will once again have direct international service to Europe. Delta Airlines is set to begin non stop service from Pittsburgh International Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France, where passengers can then connect to over 90 European cities.

The flights are scheduled to depart five times a week, none on Tuesdays and Fridays.  They will be operated on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft, with seating for 16 in Delta’s BusinessElite section and 158 in economy.

The new route comes as a by-product of Delta’s joint venture with Air France and represents Delta’s first-ever direct service from Pittsburgh to Paris.

The non stop flight also comes as a welcome boost for businesses and tourism in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, as Pittsburgh International Airport has been operating without direct international service since 2004 when US Airways suspended their direct service to London and Frankfurt from the Pennsylvania hub.

New York to Barbados and Jamaica Non Stop

Starting October 1, 2009, JetBlue will begin direct service from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport to Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown, Barbados.  JetBlue will offer daily non-stop service to the capital on a 150 seat Airbus A320 aircraft, complete with JetBlue’s usual amenities of leather seats, unlimited snacks and complimentary TVs in every seatback.

This move comes after Air Jamaica suspended it’s service from New York to Barbados. The Barbados Tourism Authority toutedthe JetBlue deal as a beneficial move towards increasing the already plentiful US tourism market, which is the island’s second largest after the United Kingdom. The route will give Barbados over 54,000 more seats each year for possible visitors.

In addition to adding Barbados to their service, JetBlue is planning on offering direct flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica from JFK. The service is scheduled to start on May 21, 2009 but is still pending clearance from the government operating authority.

Non Stop Flights From the US to China

In 2007, the US Department of Transportation awarded 6 new routes to various airlines to be flown from the United States to China.  Several routes began service in the spring of 2008, with the rest signing on in the spring of 2009. Five of the six routes offer direct service from American to Chinese cities.

Delta Airlines flies  from Atlanta, Georgia to Shanghai on a Boeing 777.

Northwest Airlines also has a direct route to Shanghai from Detroit, Michigan.

American Airlines will offer service from Chicago, Illinois to China’s capital, Beijing, on the Boeing 777

Meanwhile, United Airlines flights direct to Guangzhou from San Francisco, California also on the Boeing 777.

Continental Airlines  joins the group offering daily non stop flights between Newark/New York and Shanghai, featuring traditional Chinese food in their in-flight meal service.

In 2009, US Airways will begin service to Beijing from their Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hub, but the flight will originate in their other hub in Charlotte, North Carolina.

New Non Stop Flight From Dallas to Madrid

American Airlines has just expanded its services to Europe by adding daily non-stop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Madrid Barajas Airport in Madrid, Spain. The flight from Dallas to Madrid, approximately 9 hours and 25 minutes and the return flight, approximately 10 hours and 35 minutes, will be flown in a two-class configuration on the Boeing 767-3—wide-body aircraft, which seats 225 people.

Joining American Airlines in its expanded service to Spain is Delta Airlines, who is set to begin non-stop service to Valencia, Spain from New York’s JFK four times weekly. Flights are set to depart JFK on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and return flights are scheduled to depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flights will be conducted on a Boeing 757-200 ETOPS, with room for 16 in “Business Elite” class and 158 in economy class.

New Non Stop Flight From Cleveland To London

Continental Airlines has just announced non-stop service from Cleveland to London, England. Starting in May and continuing through September 26, 2009, passengers from Cleveland International Airport can now fly non-stop to Heathrow Airport in London. The new service, with flights departing daily for the duration of the busy summer season, offers travelers the convenience of flying into London’s most central airport and one of Europe’s biggest hubs.

This comes as a change from Continental’s previous destination—London Gatwick—which is located farther from central London and provides fewer connections and services. The route will be flown with the Boeing 757, which seats 16 passengers in first class and 159 in economy. With the addition of this non-stop service to Europe, Continental will be suspending their non-stop flights from Cleveland to Paris.
